The rainforest surrounding the lodge and bordering Corcovado National Park (Esquinas Sector) has been bought with the help of the Austrian government and private funds to protect it from deforestation. Hacienda Barú Located North of Dominical beach, Hacienda Barú has more than 800 acres of privately owned National Wildlife Refuge. The six guest cabins offer a beautiful view to the surrounding forest and are located within walking distance from the beach.
